I do it piece by piece
reversing its assembly
bending back each exposed nail
so no snag or injury
will come to me or you
I do it slow I mean no harm
Bit by bit
each piece of well used wood
comes loose
an offering
to shadows and echoes
cycles of memory
bits to be hauled away
